November 2025 Binti Features and Enhancements

We are  excited to share a packed month of product updates designed to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and make Binti even easier to use across Licensing, Family Finding, and more. Read on for all the latest improvements!

✨ New Features and Enhancements

Licensing

  • Worker Signature Notifications - Workers now receive automated notifications requiring their signatures on Licensing forms, which facilitates the timely completion of necessary documentation.

  • Retitled “External Identifier” to “Person ID” - To reduce confusion and keep terminology consistent, the “External Identifier” field has been relabeled as Person ID throughout the product.
  • Person ID Now Visible and Editable - Agencies can now view and update the Person ID directly on the Person Profile.
  • Inline File Renaming for Licensing & Caregiver Management Module Users - Users are now able to rename files directly from the Documents page, eliminating the need for downloading or re-uploading.

  • Custom Fields on Person & Licensing Pages - Agencies using Custom Fields can now add unique, agency-specific fields directly to the Person Profile and License pages. These fields support multiple formats (checkbox, yes/no, single-select), making it easier to tailor Binti to local workflows

AI & Transcription

  • “Fill with AI” Button for Psychosocial Forms - Workers can now launch AI Transcription directly from psychosocial forms using the new Fill with AI button. The workflow automatically preselects the correct caregiver and form, saving time and reducing setup steps.

  • Standardized AI Visual Design - All AI-related elements now use a consistent, accessible purple/blue gradient, replacing older orange/red indicators. This includes buttons, notices, animations, and header accents for a cleaner and more cohesive experience.

Family Finding & Engagement

  • Ability to Review PKOS Search Parameters Before Launch - Users are now directed to a dedicated Search Parameters page upon initiation, rather than immediately executing the search. This new step allows users to modify or eliminate search fields prior to launching the PKOS search, thereby facilitating broader results and mitigating the risk of over-filtering.

  • Improved Worker Assignment Filter - The Worker Assignment dropdown in the Family Find Searches Dashboard now supports multi-select and autocomplete, making it easier to locate the right staff.
  • Addresses Now Sorted From Most Recent to Oldest - To match Potential Kin Online Search (PKOS) and improve readability, addresses on the Person Profile now display with the most recent address at the top.

🔧 Fixes

Licensing

  • Additional Requirements Only Appear When Added - 'Additional Requirements' on the Documents page now only display when a worker explicitly requests them, preventing automatic population.
  • PDF of All Documents Always Shows the Most Recent Version - A backend issue causing multiple active PDFs to appear was resolved. Now, regenerating the PDF always replaces older versions and shows the correct timestamp.
  • Co-Applicant Signature Issue Resolved - A scenario affecting co-applicants who had previously undergone a role change (e.g., transitioning from "Other Adult" to "Co-Applicant") resulted in signature errors on certain forms. This issue has been resolved, and signatures now save correctly.

October 2025 Binti Features and Enhancements

This month’s updates focus on improving navigation, strengthening Agency Relationship (AR) permissions, enhancing AI transcription accuracy, and polishing the Placement Options and Mapping experience. Read on for all the latest improvements!

✨ New Features and Enhancements

Licensing

  • Easier Access to License Information - Workers can now access license details directly from the Applicant Data page.

A new License Information button has been added to the bottom navigation bar, providing a faster, more intuitive way to open the License page.

AI & Transcription

  • Speaker Labeling Added - AI-generated transcripts now identify speakers whenever possible. For example:

“Joe: I grew up in England.”

This makes transcripts easier to read and helps workers quickly understand who said what.

  • Improved Accuracy Using Household Context - Previously, the AI did not have prior knowledge of who lived in the household, which meant it relied solely on the conversation for context.

Now, AI transcription incorporates household details to better understand each person referenced during interviews or calls. This enhancement helps the AI more consistently attribute answers to the correct household members, resulting in clearer, more reliable transcripts for workers.

Placements & Caregiver Management Module

  • Improved Placement Options View - When a custodial agency only has View Placement Providers permission (but not edit access), non-permitted links will now appear greyed out or hidden, preventing confusion and avoiding unnecessary permission error messages.
  • Congregate Care Facilities Now Display as Approved Homes - Group Homes now appear as approved homes on Map View within Placement Options and View Matching Families. They display as blue pins, clearly marked with their placement type.
  • Updated Pin Designs in Family Map - All Family Map pins have been refreshed with new, modern styles.
While colors remain consistent across placement types (e.g., Families, Congregate Care Facilities, Private Agencies), the redesigned pins offer improved clarity and visual distinction.

Family Finding & Engagement

Expanded CLEAR API Search Results - We’ve updated our CLEAR configuration to return a more complete list of relatives and associates when running a Potential Kin Online Search.

A previously disabled field now set to “true” broadens and improves kin connection results.

🔧 Fixes

Licensing

  • Missing Other/Misc Documents Section Restored - The Other/Misc Documents section now appears as expected on Out-of-County Sending applications when Caregiver Documents 2.0 is enabled.

Placements & Caregiver Management Module

  • Waived Requirements Error Resolved -  Partner agency workers will no longer encounter a Honeybadger error when viewing or editing a Placement Search with waived (N/A) requirements. These searches now load correctly.
  • Holds Cannot Be Created for Partner Agency Providers - Custodial agencies can no longer add or edit Holds for placement providers belonging to partner agencies. Attempting to do so will correctly display a permission error.
  • Placement Call Logs Restricted - Custodial agencies can no longer create Placement Call Logs for partner agency providers. Proper permission checks are now enforced across Placement Options and View Matching Families.
  • Call Log Permissions Resolved - Custodial Agencies can no longer create or view Call Logs for Partner Agencies when connected via an Agency Relationship. A permission error now appears as expected.
  • Availability Message Checkbox Hidden -  Custodial Agencies will no longer see the option to send Availability Messages to families belonging to Partner Agencies.

June 2025 Binti Release: AI Improvements, Smoother Navigation, and More

We’re thrilled to bring you the latest Binti updates! This month’s release makes it even easier to harness the power of Binti AI, strengthens cross-agency collaboration, and introduces thoughtful design improvements for a more seamless, intuitive user experience. We’ve also rolled out impactful updates across Family Finding, Licensing, and reporting workflows, all shaped by your valuable feedback:

✨ New Features and Enhancements

AI & Transcription

  • Ask Binti AI: Easily Copy AI Responses – When using Ask Binti AI, you can now quickly copy the full response with a single click, making it easy to paste answers into case notes, Google Docs, or emails for faster documentation.
  • Expanded File Support for Transcriptions – Binti now accepts video/3gpp audio formats, including some .m4a files from mobile devices, making it easier to upload recordings from a wider range of sources.
  • Improved Feedback for Large File Uploads – Workers uploading a transcription file larger than 24MB will now see a helpful modal explaining the file size limit, with instructions to reduce the file size and try again. Plus, we’ve added tracking to monitor how often this happens.
  • Improved Upload Reliability for In-App Recordings – If a worker loses internet connection during an in-app recording upload, Binti will now display a “Queued Upload” message and automatically retry when the connection is restored. The worker will also get an email notification when the upload completes. This ensures uploads are not lost even when a user loses internet connection.

Licensing

  • Expiring Documents Report Now More Accurate – The report now excludes closed or inactive applications and removes older versions of documents once a newer unexpired version is uploaded.
  • Automatic Conversion for 18-Year-Olds in the Home – When a youth turns 18, Binti will now automatically convert them from a child in the home to an Other Adult, generating the correct requirements and carrying over relevant data.
  • Improved 18th Birthday Notifications – Caregivers will get an email notification on the youth’s 18th birthday, while assigned workers will get a 30-day advance notice to help them prepare for new requirements.

  • Clearer Reference Status for Waived References – Waived references now appear as “Completed” with an info icon for added clarity. If a waiver is removed, the reference count updates accurately, ensuring the status always reflects the current reference requirements.

  • Consistent Provider Name Display in Congregate Care & CPA Apps – The top-right header across CPA/CCA application pages now consistently shows the provider’s name (not the license manager’s), with clear status formatting for better navigation.

Placements

  • Cross-Agency Placements: Partner Agencies Retain Access to Their Requirements – Partner agencies now continue to see any child requirements they generated (overdue, in progress, completed, or waived) during a cross-agency placement, even after the placement ends for improved data quality and reporting purposes.

🔧 Fixes

Licensing

  • Application History No Longer Logs Every Keystroke – Increased the autosave delay for Background Check Notes to reduce unnecessary historical entries.
  • Cross-Agency Application Edits Now Save Properly – Workers at source agencies can now successfully save changes when editing caregiver applications within agency relationships.

Family Finding

  • Better Tab Navigation on the Relationships Dashboard – The yellow highlight now properly follows mouse clicks between the Connections, Potential Connections, and Contact Logs tabs for clearer navigation.
  • Contact Name Filter Restored – Workers can once again filter by Contact Name in the Family Finding Contact Log Dashboard.
  • Archived Workers No Longer Break Contact Logs – If a worker who logged a contact gets deleted, Binti now shows their name with “(Archived in Binti on MM/DD/YYYY)” so logs remain accessible.

May 2025 Binti Release: Advancing with AI and User-Driven Updates

We’re excited to share the latest updates in Binti! This month, we’re spotlighting Binti AI, our growing suite of AI-powered tools designed to save time and reduce paperwork for workers. This release also includes important updates that improve caregiver navigation and terminology changes that bring more clarity to our tools. Read on for all the details!

✨ New AI Features

Binti is delighted to announce the launch of some key features leveraging AI to drive efficiencies and save social worker time!

Note: These features have not been automatically deployed for users- agencies must opt into making these features available. Please contact your Customer Success Manager if you are interested in learning more or potentially utilizing these features.

AI & Transcription

  • “Ask Binti AI”: Workers can ask Binti AI questions and receive key insights and answers from data across an applicant’s data page, as well as forms and case notes

  • Allow Uploads of Documents & Handwritten Notes to be transcribed – In addition to audio, workers can now upload documents or interview notes to be transcribed by Binti AI and converted into case notes or form entries.
  • Selective Form Filling with Binti AI – Workers can choose which forms Binti AI should populate after a transcription. This prevents unwanted data entry and gives more control over documentation.

🚀 Enhancements

Licensing

  • Monitor Expiring Youth Transitions Automatically – Workers and caregivers will now receive automated email notifications when a youth in the home turns 18 and becomes an “Other Adult in Home,” helping everyone stay ahead of new requirements.
  • More Options for “How Did the Applicant Learn About Our Agency?” – We’ve expanded the available selections in the “How did the applicant learn about our agency?” field to better capture referral sources:

    • “Yard Sign” under Advertisement
    • “Community Event” under Event
    • “Health Care Setting”, “Community Based Organization”, and “Employer” under Word of Mouth
    • When an Event option is selected, a new free-text field labeled “Which event” appears—optional with no character limit—allowing for more detailed tracking.
  • Streamlined Download Options [CD 2.0] – The “Download as Word” option now only appears for partially completed agency forms, helping workers avoid confusion and focus on forms in progress.
  • Improved CSV Download Experience – CSVs with 250+ rows are now processed as background jobs. A pop up message confirms the request: “Successfully requested CSV. You will get an email notification when it is ready to be downloaded.”

Family Finding

  • Enhanced Potential Kin Online Search (PKOS) – The “Date Reported” now appears next to each address result in PKOS searches, helping workers identify the most recent and relevant address when saving new potential connections.
  • Deceased Indicator in Relationships Dashboard – If someone is marked deceased, “(Deceased)” now appears next to their name in the Relationships Dashboard to prevent unnecessary outreach and confusion.

  • Better Tab Organization and Naming – To reduce confusion:
    • The “Relationships” tab is now labeled “Connections.”
    • The “Contact Logs” tab now appears third.
    • Subheadings above tables have also been renamed to match their tabs for clarity.

  • Last Name Sorting for FF Searches – The FF Searches dashboard  now sorts by child last name (instead of first name) for easier navigation and consistency.

🔧 Fixes

Licensing

  • Family ID Now Carries Over After Role Switch – Resolved a bug where the RFA/Family ID wasn’t transferring to the new primary applicant after a role switch, which had previously blocked approvals.
  • Reference Waivers No Longer Block Progress – Applicants can now move forward as long as all reference requirements are either completed, waived, or both—even if the reference fields are blank.

Family Finding

Bulk Outreach for Potential Connections – Bulk outreach is again available and clickable for potential connections, streamlining outreach efforts.
