❄️✨ Winter Wins: December 2025 & January 2026 Product Updates
As we wrapped up 2025 and stepped into 2026, our team delivered a wide set of enhancements and fixes focused on clarity, efficiency, and better support for workers’ day-to-day practice. These updates span Family Finding, Service Referrals, Licensing, AI & Transcription, and overall usability improvements.
Here’s what’s new.
✨ New Features and Enhancements
AI & Transcription
We have expanded AI-powered transcription and form support to give agencies more control, clearer entry points, and smoother workflows for narrative-heavy documentation.
- Clearer access to AI transcription
We have added more visible entry points to AI transcription in the Binti header. Instead of relying on the firework icon alone, users will now see a labeled button such as “Try AI” or “Fill Forms,” depending on configuration.
- Start AI transcription directly from Case Notes
Workers can now initiate AI-powered transcription directly from Case Notes, making it easier to capture conversations and turn them into documentation without switching workflows.
- New “Fill with AI” button on psychosocial forms
Psychosocial forms such as home studies and family evaluations now include a “Fill with AI” button (highlighted in Binti’s purple AI gradient). When selected, the transcription workflow launches with key details pre-filled:
- The caregiver associated with the form is automatically selected
- The psychosocial form you started from is preselected
- This streamlines narrative-heavy form completion and reduces manual effort.
- More control over AI-assisted form completion
Agencies now have more flexibility over how AI supports form completion. For selected forms, specific questions can be excluded from AI assistance, and behind-the-scenes guidance can be provided to help AI complete other sections accurately. This ensures AI support aligns with agency preferences while keeping sensitive or judgment-based questions worker-led.
Family Finding
- Date of Death surfaced in PKOS results
When available, Date of Death is now visible directly in the preview panel of Potential Kin search results. This helps workers make informed decisions without needing to open additional profiles or rerun searches. If no date is reported, the field is hidden.
- Real-Time Incarceration Arrest (RTIA) results enabled in comprehensive searches
RTIA results are now displayed in the Potential Kin Online Search comprehensive search view and included in downloadable comprehensive reports, giving workers access to a fuller picture in one place.
- Improved Family Finding search exports
The Family Finding Searches CSV now includes Reason for Closure and Closure Details, making it easier to review outcomes for closed searches without navigating back into the UI.
- Clearer search status visibility
In the “All” tab of the Family Finding Searches dashboard, the Status column has been replaced with Reason for Closure. Open searches are indicated by the absence of an end date, reducing redundancy and improving clarity.
- Improved line spacing for Bulk Outreach letters
To ensure Bulk Outreach letters, like Relative Notification Letters, remain a single page, we have updated the line spacing. The default font is now 9pt (user-adjustable), and line spacing is consistently set to 1.25. This is a temporary enhancement, with further improvements scheduled.
Licensing
- Clearer license status during renewals
When a provider is actively licensed and in the renewal process, the License Status now displays as Licensed, avoiding confusion caused by backend application statuses.
- Multi-license clarity in background checks
Background check logs now display template lineage as subtext, helping workers understand which license or application they’re reviewing in multi-license households.
- Cleaner document actions
The “Regenerate completed form” link has been renamed to “Recover PDF of completed form” and now only appears when appropriate, avoiding unnecessary actions when signed PDFs already exist.
- Co-applicant consistency across licenses
When a co-applicant is added to a renewal, they are now automatically reflected on other active applications in the household (excluding previously approved licenses).
- Phone number access across agencies
Workers at target agencies can now view and edit applicant phone numbers for source agency applications, as long as they have permission to view or edit application data.
Service Referrals & Notifications
- New referral notifications
Workers can now receive email notifications when:
- A referral they’re assigned to is accepted
- A referral they’re assigned to is rejected
- New service records are added to a referral
Notifications are sent only to users assigned to the referral and only if the user has the notification enabled in My Account.
- Keyboard-friendly filtering
Filters on Service Referrals and Providers dashboards now apply when pressing Enter or Return, making filtering faster and more intuitive.
- Clearer service contract display
The Service Records table now correctly displays the Service Contract name (instead of the Service name), with the contract ID shown as subtext when available.
- Backdating acceptance permissions fixed
Users with permission to accept agency service referrals can now backdate acceptance dates. For users without this permission, edit controls are hidden to avoid confusion.
🛠️ Quality Improvements
- Browser support clarity
A new public browser support page lists supported browsers, shows the user’s current browser status, and provides direct update links. This page is accessible from the footer for easy troubleshooting.
As always, thank you for your partnership and feedback. These updates are shaped directly by how you use Binti every day, and we’re excited to continue improving the platform together.
